PDO Threads
Polydioxanone is synthetic absorbable surgical suture, also known as NOVATHREADS. These are the only pre-loaded high quality PDO threads made in the US with highest quality standards for manufacture and sterilization. PDO threads are proven to be one of the safest material to be implanted in the body.
PDO threads are a great option to define the vermilion border and create subtle volume.
For PDO threads in the lips “zingers” can occur up to 2 weeks after placement of threads.
You must call the office immediately if you have persistent numbness, discoloration, significant or worsening pain in the lips, nose, and/or around your mouth.
Avoid smoking, drinking out of a straw, and anything that may mold or change the filler shape for up to 2 weeks.

MASTER INJECTOR, PLASTIC SURGERYPA-C, MBA Leah has over 17 years of surgical experience and 7 years of aesthetic experience. She graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Health Science in 2005, a Master of Physician Assistant Science in 2006, and Master of Business Administration in 2016. She has spent the last 6 years of her career in Reconstructive Plastic Surgery with an emphasis on breast and facial reconstruction and Aesthetic Medicine. She is Pennsylvania licensed and Nationally Board Certified (NCCPA). Leah has continued to learn the art of aesthetic injections. In 2021, she became a master level injector and received a master lip certification from Empire Medical. She continues to practice as a surgical Physician Assistant in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery.
LEWIS MARCH M.D.
MEDICAL DIRECTOR, EMERGENCY MEDICINE Lew graduated from Case Western University School of Medicine in 1973 and trained in Internal Medicine in Baltimore and Washington, DC from 1973-1976 and was Board Certified in 1976. He was practicing Internal Medicine until 1983. Lew then began the practice of Emergency Medicine and was Board Certified in 1988. He continues working in Emergency Medicine at UPMC St. Margaret and is always looking forward to new frontiers to explore that can enhance individuals health and wellness.
